Eli Smith, MBA
Founder & President
About the Founder
Eli Smith believes that true life value comes from leaving the world better for every successive generation. As Founder and President of SewFay, she brings together her background in creative arts, business strategy, and community advocacy to help people connect, create, grow, and belong.
SewFay’s mission is deeply personal to Eli. After navigating epilepsy from early childhood into adulthood and ultimately undergoing life altering brain surgery, she came to understand the isolation and uncertainty that can accompany life’s greatest challenges. Her experience also gave her a lasting appreciation for the importance of creativity, human connection, and community.
Determined to turn adversity into purpose, Eli continued her education and earned an MBA with honors, strengthening her ability to build sustainable organizations and transform ideas into opportunities that benefit others.
Through her personal and professional experiences, she has seen how easily people can become disconnected amid work, health challenges, family responsibilities, and the demands of everyday life. She founded SewFay to help create something increasingly valuable: a welcoming space where people can participate, contribute, explore their creativity, connect with others, and belong.
Mission Statement
Strengthening individuals and communities through connection, growth, creativity, and belonging.
Vision
We envision communities where creativity, learning, and shared experiences bring generations together, reduce isolation, encourage mental wellness, and build relationships that strengthen communities for generations to come.
Fulfilling Our Mission
Our mission is fulfilled through the people who take part in it. Every person who participates brings something unique, their ideas, experiences, creativity, skills, or simply their presence. When those contributions are shared, they create opportunities for others to connect, learn, grow, and feel that they belong. Each person strengthens the experience for someone else, turning individual participation into collective impact.
